Affording EDS
Financial Assistance
We understand that many EDS families choose to realign their lifestyles in order to put their child’s educational needs first. Therefore, in the belief that no qualified student should be denied enrollment due to financial restraints, we provide need-based Financial Assistance.
Recipients of Financial Assistance are expected to abide by the same academic and conduct standards of all other EDS students. To remain eligible for Financial Assistance, families must apply annually, and students must continue to demonstrate financial need and maintain good standing in both academics and conduct. Positive and constructive relationships between parents and the school must also exist throughout the year. Applying for Financial Assistance does not affect one’s chances for admission; applicants are accepted without regard to a family’s financial situation and without discrimination on the basis of race, nationality, or ethnic origin.
In order to qualify for Financial Assistance for the next school year, a family must be current with their student account balance throughout the year.
Please note: We do not accept the Step Up for Students scholarship program.

Financial assistance applicants will apply and submit all documentation to FACTS Grant & Aid. Documentation required includes: the previous year's W-2s, 1040 tax returns, end-of-year pay stub and previous year 1040 (once completed). The 1040s with all schedules are to be submitted by April 1. Financial assistance awards are not final until the application is verified with the previous year's documentation.
All custodial parents are required to submit their documentation to complete the application.

Divorced or Separated Parents?
Both parents may submit separate online applications, including the required tax documentation. Personal information will be strictly confidential. Fifty percent of financial responsibility will be assumed by each parent unless otherwise legally documented. EDS may request additional information from all parties and reserves the right to review on a case-by-case basis.
Family Who Owns a Business?
All parents who own a business are required to furnish information relevant to the business to substantiate need, such as balance sheets and cash flow statements.
Parents Who Do Not Work?
EDS presumes that all adult family members will work to contribute to the investment of the child’s education. To that end, when the mother or father chooses not to work and there are no preschool children at home, or is a full or part-time student, EDS will impute an annual income for the non-working parent. Exceptions may be made if the parents are caring for a disabled child, parent, or grandparent, or critically ill child, parent, or grandparent.

Returning Students
Use your Family Portal to submit online applications and documentation online to FACTS for the previous school year. By April 1, all applicants must upload the previous year's W-2s and Income Tax Returns with all schedules to FACTS.
New Students
Parents of new students should contact the Business Office early in the admissions process to discuss affordability and financial assistance. Application for newly enrolled students is made through your Family Portal.

Awards are considered final only when all required information is received by FACTS and the Business Office receives the signed Financial Assistance Agreement.
Yes. All financial information submitted by parents is held in strictest confidentiality by the Financial Assistance Committee.
