All teachers at Episcopal Day School must have a bachelor's degree in education. If academic preparation is out of the field of education, teachers must have a bachelor's degree with at least 12 hours in the area where they spend the majority of their instructional time.  Many teachers at EDS hold advanced degrees and most are either Florida state certified or eligible for certification. All full and part-time employees have undergone background checks and state fingerprinting.
